This assessment was completed and documented in a series of background reports. The assessment of the region's transportation needs was the first step in developing the 2030 RTP. It is also a requirement allowing federal transportation dollars to flow to the region. It serves as a guide for developing a transportation system (including roads, bridges, buses, airports, border crossings, sidewalks,and bicycle paths) that is accessible, safe and reliable and contributes to a higher quality of life.
